I must say this was very interesting. i really expected to see a really fancy place like Buckingham palace. Just looks like a really nice Japanese house with beautiful grounds, pretty sensible.

The palace is only open to the public twice a year, so I have no idea what it looks like. The originals were all destroyed in WWII
