English lessons

I had my second trial lesson today at one o'clock. It is now three and Kosuke (the owner of the school) just called and told me that she wants to continue lessons because she really liked me. The other woman is still thinking because she was looking for a older teacher and I told her that one was my first time, so she is a little nervous about it. I had to be honest with her. Anyway, I get to start regular lessons with Chihiro after Christmas. Yay!

  2. What are the ages of the two students? Does that seem to make a difference?

If the one woman is hesitant maybe it's better if you don't try to teach her. She probably would have a problem believeing that she was learning anything, otherwords the "you are to young to know anything" syndrome.

I'm glad the one girl is happy with the situation. All it takes is one and pretty soon you have a room full. Now that's a scary thought.

  3. The one who is hesitating is 31. I am not sure I could be the kind of teacher she is looking for so I am not offended that she may not want me as a teacher. It is probably better for both of us.
The other woman is 27. She seems to be a responsible grown woman and the age difference between us doesn't seem as obvious. Japanese women tend to both look and act younger than they really are anyway.
I am just looking forward to getting more students.
