I have to rant...

Okay, I don't do this too often so I have to take my chance to complain. Skype sucks. I can't call anyone on their landline phone and no one can call me. Well, technically they can but neither of us can understand the other. Why am I wasting money on this? Maybe I should just get vonage.
UPDATE: My dad called me this morning and Skype worked beautifully. I got to talk to him for a whole hour. How weird is that?

    I can't figure this out, as I can hear
    Gary really well and he has talked to people everywhere and had no problem. We have more problems with the cell phone as there are so many dead spots, like in his house.
    How come you pay and I get mine free? Is it because you can use the land line also? I sure wish we could hear better through the computer, you come in loud and clear on this end, it's just me you can't hear well.
    There must be some way????

    I can talk to you and other people on skype really clear. I want to keep it just for that, but when I try to call people that are on a landline or cell phone, neither of us can understand the other. Danny says that he called AJ and it was fine, but I have not had that same experiance. The problem may be my computer, but I have read through Skype that it is common to have problems when calling a landline because of the quality of the connection.

    p.s. Mine is not free because I paid for a phone number which came with voicemail and I also have to pay to call out (Skype out). It is really cheap though. $38 for the year for the phone number and less than a cent a minute for calls out. In is free.
