Pictures from Hong Kong

Like I said before, Danny has most the good pictures but I posted what I could. I think some are accidentally missing, but these are good for now. When he gets home and gives me the rest then I will make a new slideshow. The weather was in the 70s and cloudy most the week. When we went to Victoria's Peak I was sweating while standing in line and the sun came out so the view was amazing as you'll see. BTW, Victoria's Peak is the highest point on the island. They have an awesome website here: The Peak. It was definitely the highlight of the trip.

  1. Very interesting I will look forward to more pictures. I recognize the blond girl, I gather you all went together to meet your husbands.

i viewed the Peak web site, it is really something, I really loved the night shot.

  2. Quite a show! Looks like you had a very nice hotel. All those tall buidings.... Our Chinese friends who live there, say it's too crowded for them. I would have thought those who were born there would be used to it, but they would prefer someplace like where we live.

So good to see Danny (even better for you to see him!). So glad you were together.

    Love,

  3. How do you recognize the blond girl (Mindy)? Was she in another of my slideshows? I don't remember having any pictures of her. Anyway, yes we did all go together. There was another, but she didn't stay with us in the hotel room the first night.
I was amazed at how many high rises there were. It was overwhelming. It actually amazes me that the Japanese don't do that more considering the lack of space they have. I don't think I could handle it for too long. It nice to back someplace where the buildings aren't any more that 3 stories high!

  4. Went back and checked, it was Blair that I thought was Mindy,( all these blonds look alike.)

I would think Japan would worry about the earthquakes and building such high structures.

Did you get a chance to buy anything in Hong Kong? I wonder if their prices are as cheap as people said they there in the past.

Glad you were able to travel togethor....safety in numbers and all that.

  5. I thought about the earthquakes and Japan, but I guess Hong Kong is supposed to have earthquakes too, maybe not as bad.
Prices were pretty cheap. I didn't really look at stuff. People make a big deal about how cheap the expensive purse knockoffs are, but I didn't really care. I didn't really buy anything. I got a jade bead bracelet and Danny bought me an opal ring for Christmas, then I bought a cute purse at the airport. Danny insisted on buy stuff for his family, but we didn't buy anything for mine. Sorry guys, I am cheap and you know it. Even if it is Danny's paycheck...
The four of us girls flew together and three of us shared a hotel the first night, but we didn't see eachother much beyond there. Hong Kong is supposed to be really safe, but it kind of gave me the heebee jeebees (for lack of a better term). I just wasn't comfortable with it. If you look back at the pictures and see the slummy looking apartments you'd understand why. Plus there were these annoying Indian/Middle Eastern guys. I won't even get started with that...

  6. I didn't realize he had something custom made for you. This isn't something he told me. I think I am going to have to talk to him.
I think he was pretty tired, but he started to look better as the weekend went on. The bed was hard as a rock and he did say he wanted to get back to the ship because it was more comfortable, but I think he got good sleep and was a little more relaxed anyway.
I am still trying to talk to Danny about the summer and find out when he will be around, but it is too early to know right now.
