So tired

I'm guessing that even the smallest amount of caffeine does not agree with Melanie. I had half an iced mocha yesterday and she was awake until 1230am. She then woke up at 500 and was awake until 7. Then woke up again at 930. She is acting like she is continually hungry, but spits a lot of it back up.
THEN, Mocha pukes on the floor. I obviously cleaned it up, but my house is still a disgusting mess. Plus I have a huge pile of icky baby clothes.
I'm tired...

  1. Oh honey, I'm so sorry! Yes, babies are extremely sensitive to anything you intake when nursing. Trust me when I say, they really, really don't like onions or garlic either!

The house situation will take care of itself as time goes on. Don't worry about that. Throw some clothes in the washing machine, take a nap. Throw them in the dryer, take a nap. Use the dishwasher for bottles, Mother Nature be hanged if it isn't full. You can repay the damage later, when you're back up and running. Don't sweat the small stuff. You did good cleaning up after Mocha, that was above and beyond. Dang, I probably would have left that for Dan to deal with 23 years ago! lol

  2. Life with a baby can be a rollercoaster... You have your ups and downs, but overall it's the thrill of the ride that makes it worth it. Give yourself some time to heal both mentally and physically before you try to get back into the swing of having an immaculate house. Sleep is far more important.

As for the caffiene... some babies are more sensitive than others and as much as it isn't fun... you'll get used to it.

  3. Get used to being tired sweety, it'll stick around for the next few months until she starts sleeping through the night on a regular basis and napping at scheduled times. Tracy is right, don't worry about the house for now, taking care of a newborn is enough of a full time job!
    Love you all,

  4. Hey Sweetie,

Like I said, when I get home the choice is yours. Either I can take Melanie or I can take care of the house; you just let me know. And to everyone else, this is my public commitement, so there's no way I can back out! Anyway, don't worry darling, I'll be home soon.

    Love,
    Danny

  5. Hmmm... seems to me Lori's been doing both, the house & baby. Can't handle it yourself, son? lol I'm just teasing, you and Lori will find your own dance steps when it comes to baby, house & kitty stuff. Funny how it works out.

Love you all! XXOOX Mom/Dad, Dan/Tracy
