Knitting help

I found this website sometime ago and think its so wonderful that I wanted to share it with anyone who knits.
http://www.knittinghelp.com/
It has lots of great videos. I am using to learn to knit 1 away. They make it look so easy I really think I can do it. I haven't touched my knitting in a few weeks because I got frustrated with the thing I was working on, but now I need to get working so I have things to keep me warm in Rhode Island!

  1. Those sites with video clips really do help a lot. I couldn't figure out a crocheting stitch, a double lovers knot, then found a site that had a clip to show me. Voila! I got it! Unfortunately, this site didn't show me a video on how to 'yarn forward', so if you ever run into that and figure it out, share, okay? ;-) Mom/Tracy

  2. I can't believe I use to know most of this, now I have to get out a book everytime I do something. It is a very good web site for instrution, soes make more sense than the books.

  3. Have you tried the continental stitch? The knit looks easy and fast but the purl looks so awkward I'm afraid I would be losing half the stitches. If I was just learning I would try that way.

  4. My latest and greatest thing to try next is either cables or lace. Both look great. Probably cables, since that's more seasonally appropriate right now. Drew's ex from last year is a knitter and tells me doing cables is really easy. Uh huh, sure, right. ;-)

  5. Well, I just finished my coif today and now I am working on a matching scarf. I just hope I have enough yarn. When I'm done I am going to make another coif in grey. (The internet spellchecker told me that was the wrong spelling of "gray" but I like that spelling better!) I have so much free time at the school. In fact I did 80% of the coif just today at work. We'll see how far I get on the scarf tomorrow. I have to plan my lesson, so probably not too far.

  6. I'm anxious to see the final project. I crocheted a hat out of cashmere and liked it so much, I'm also making a scarf out of the same yarn. I may try cables for the first time on it. I found what's supposed to be an easy pattern for it, wish me luck!

  7. I couldn't figure out what kind of hat you were making. I went on to the pictures in the computer to see what it looked like. The first pictures were of the old knights and the metal mesh hats they wore, then I saw a picture of your knitted hat. I would call them a cloche, which was so popular in the gay 90's. They show your hat from the Nordic countries.

Anyway good luck I'm sure it's cute.
