OOD Board
So, I found out today that I will be (most likely) taking my Officer of the Deck Board on the 12th of this month! This is big, because it's my last (and biggest) qualification that I can get prior to my SWO qual. As my CO put it, he will not qualify anyone OOD that he won't also qualify SWO. Anyway, it basically means that I will be in charge of the safe navigation of the ship while we're underway. Wish me luck!

Not being Navy I can't give much advice, but I'm sure you will do just fine.
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean that when you are navigating the ship it will be like directing Lori on I-5, across 4 lanes of traffic into the right exit? Just kidding, I'm sure Lori takes better directions, (and faster).

Good luck, baby! I know you've studied hard and will continue to do so so you'll do well on the board. Nerve wracking, to be sure, but you're more than up to it. Dad & I are both VERY proud of you!!! Let us know how you do when you find out, okay? XXOOX Mom
